Registration for the 2026 WINTER Season
IS NOW OPEN
Volunteering as a coach or manager at Abbotsford Juniors Football Club is a highly rewarding experience that any member of our community, male or female, regardless of prior football experience, can do. No experience is necessary other than a ‘Give it a Go” attitude. Training and support is provided by the Club and registration is at no cost.
Important Information about Registration
- Registration for the 2026 Winter Season with Abbotsford Juniors Football Club (and all other Clubs in the Football Canterbury Association) has changed. Player registrations will be completed in the national PlayFootball online registration system managed by Football Australia and Football NSW and whilst Dribl will still be used by AJFC and the Football Canterbury Association for competition management (match schedules and details, game management, results, and competition ladders), registration in Dribl will not be possible.
- Registration with PlayFootball provides coaches and managers with an FFA Number that is used to confirm accreditation for training courses and coach/manager development activity completed with an accredited training body like the Football Canterbury Association
- Coaches and Managers should upload a new (current) passport style photo each year during registration to avoid issues with old or out of date photos when playing.
- AJFC strongly recommends coaches and managers wishing to register for the 2026 Winter Season with AJFC review our Guide to PlayFootball Registration before commencing registration.
- Multiple player, coach and manager registrations can be made through a single PlayFootball Account (a separate account is not needed for each registration). For example, a parent who plays and manages their children’s team, can register themselves as a player, a manager and also register their children from a single account and email address.
- In accordance with Football Australia and Football NSW Regulations, AJFC requires that ALL coaches and team managers of Junior and Youth teams (up to Under 18 and Under 19 age groups) must complete and obtain a current clearance through the Working with Children Check process.
Coach and Manager Registration
Step 1 – Obtain A Working with Children CHeck
ALL coaches and team managers of AJFC Mini-Roos, Junior and Youth teams up to the age of Under 19 years MUST complete and obtain a current clearance through the NSW Government’s Working with Children Check process. Details of the process can be found on the NSW Government Office of the Children’s Guardian or Service NSW website at Working with Children Check.
If you already have a Working with Children Check clearance, please check it remains current. A failure to supply valid and current Working with Children Check at the time of registration will see registration with the Club withheld.
Step 2 – create a PlAYFOOTBALL Account (LIKELY TO BE required for 2026 Registration)
If you do not have an account from a previous football registration, you will need a contact email address to create a new account.
Visit the PlayFootball website and click the My Account link at top right hand side of the screen. This will navigate you to the login page. Scroll to the bottom and select the Create Account button and complete the process steps to setup a new account.
Returning AJFC coaches and managers who have an existing PlayFootball account should use this account to login to complete registration.
Step 3 – Complete Coach OR Manager registration
Navigate to the PlayFootball Club Registration page, ensuring that you are logged in to your PlayFootball Account. Search for “Abbotsford Juniors” and then follow the prompts to complete your registration request.
Instructions on how to complete a registration can be found at PlayFootball – How to register as a coach, manager or volunteer.
Coach and Manager Assignment to a Team
Your registration will be reviewed and processed by the Club. All prospective coaches and managers at Abbotsford Juniors Football Club must register with the Club. Coach and Manager registrations that have not completed a Working with Children Check cannot be progressed and approved by the Club, until such time as this information is completed and validated.
Abbotsford Juniors Football Club holds a Coaches and Team Managers’ Forum (usually held in March) of each calendar year which provides important information on changes to rules, processes and operational detail that apply for the upcoming season. The forum also provides an opportunity for new coaches and managers to have any questions they have answered by Club Officials in attendance. The date and time of the forum will be announced on our website, Facebook page and emailed directly to registered coaches and team managers.
During the year, the Football Canterbury Association and Abbotsford Juniors Football Club run a number of coaching courses and development sessions. These include accredited Football NSW coaching courses. The Club funds attendance at these training courses upon successful completion of the course and strongly encourages all its coaches, whether parents or other interested community members to take advantage of this development opportunity.
