Wet Weather

Wet weather can cause fields to be closed by Clubs and/or local Councils when they determine that the field is not usable. The Football Canterbury Competition Management System – Dribl App is the final source of truth for teams as to whether their game is on or not according to the following rules:

  • If a game is marked as “Pending” in Dribl, the game is proceeding as scheduled at the present time and the team should prepare to attend the field;
  • If a game is marked as “Washout Rescheduled” or “Washout Cancelled” in Dribl, then the game has been called off and the team does not need to attend the field;

Teams should ensure that they monitor their Dribl App carefully during periods of wet weather for the status of their game. It is important to note that in the event that a field is unavailable due to wet weather, games may be moved to another suitable field or a different location at short notice by the Association in an effort to ensure that games are played.

If you are in any doubt about whether or you game is proceeding, please contact your Team Manager and or Coach for updated advice.

Please see the Football Canterbury Association Wet Weather page for more information on the management approach to wet weather and the rescheduling of games.

Game Day and Wet Weather Impacts

City of Canada Bay Council
(AJFC Home Field – Wet Weather Status)

AJFC Home Field – Playing Status

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club will advise members when our home fields (Campbell Park and Lysaght Park) are closed due to field maintenance or wet weather on scheduled training and game days during the season. In the event that the City of Canada Bay Council leaves the decision as to the usability of our home fields to the Club, AJFC will provide advice on field status by email and social media as soon as possible after a decision is made. The Club will also inform the Football Canterbury Association who will update the game schedule in Dribl accordingly.

Council ONLINE Field – Wet Weather Status

Whilst Council websites provide a reasonable guide to field availability, AJFC teams must ensure they use the their Dribl App as the source of truth as to whether a game will proceed. The following links to the websites of Councils who manage Football Canterbury Association fields are provided for visibility and planning purposes. They do not replace or override the status of a game listed in Dribl.
