Important Information about Summer Player Registration

  • Abbotsford Juniors Football Club is not taking individual stand-alone player registrations outside of formed AJFC teams and so to register for the FC Sixes competition as a player you must be part of a pre-organised team of players
  • Registration for the 2026 Summer Football Season with Abbotsford Juniors Football Club (and all other Clubs in the Football Canterbury Association) has changed. Player registrations will be completed in the national PlayFootball online registration system managed by Football Australia and Football NSW and whilst Dribl will still be used by AJFC and the Football Canterbury Association for competition management (match schedules and details, game management, results, and competition ladders), registration in Dribl will not be possible.
  • Players continuing from the Winter Football Season can use their existing PlayFootball Registration account to register
  • Multiple player, coach and manager registrations can be made through a single PlayFootball Account (a separate account is not needed for each registration). For example, a parent who plays and manages their children’s team, can register themselves as a player, a manager and also register their children from a single account and email address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find out more about the FC Sixes Competition?

Please visit the Football Canterbury Association FC Sixes Competition page online for all the details about the competition.

What does an AJFC Summer Player Registration fee cover?

The player registration fee is made up of a number of fees levied by football governing bodies:

  • Football Australia fee;
  • Football NSW fee and insurance charge;
  • Football Canterbury Association player fee.

Registration fees also provide a small contribution to operational costs of the Club including the provision of team training kit (balls, bibs, cones, poles and goals), match day playing kit and associated general administration costs of running the Club.

Can my child play with their friends in a specific team?

Yes, with some restrictions.  AJFC is aware that many players who are new to football are often invited by, or wish to play with their friendship groups or previous team-mates.  AJFC allows parents to nominate friends and/or a team they wish to play with during registration. Wherever possible, Abbotsford Juniors will do its best to support this participation however this cannot be guaranteed. The Club will advise the child’s parent/guardian where this is not possible.

How do I know which age group as a player, I or my child will be in?

Junior and youth football players qualify for their age group based on the birthday they have during the calendar year of play. For example, a player who has their 10th birthday during 2025 will generally play in a team in the Under 10 competition but is unable to play in an Under 9 competition.

Adult football players qualify for teams based upon their age at the start of the year. For example, a player who is 34 at 1st January but is turning 35 during the year, would be able to play in an All Age team but not an Over 35 team.

If I decide to withdraw after registering, can I get a refund?

No refunds are possible after the season commences unless there is a genuine medical reason (doctors certificate required), due to the amounts paid out to third parties (see above). No refund of a used Active and Creative Kids Voucher is possible due to Service NSW restrictions.

Player Assignment to a Team

Where players have nominated a team and been confirmed by the team coach, they will be automatically assigned to the team. Confirmation of placement will be sought from team coaches where players reference other players assigned to an existing team but who haven’t confirmed the coach or team name.

Players and coaches who do not nominate or are not part of a specific team will not be approved and will be contacted by the Club Registrar if a suitable team placement can be made.
