AJFC Playing Kit

Change for 2026 Winter Football Season

The 2026 Winter Season will see Abbotsford Juniors Football Club introduce a new AJFC playing kit in line with our new partners and sponsors. Details abut the new playing kit for 2026 will be announced shortly.

Instructions for AJFC Players for the 2026 Winter Football Season

Every player joining Abbotsford Juniors Football Club for the Winter Season will receive a new playing kit as part of their registration fee in their first year of football with the Club. This includes playing shorts and socks, and a playing jersey. For the 2026 season, all of these items will be provided by the Club via your team coach or manager. All players need to provide their own shin-pads and soccer boots as these are mandatory for training and games.

Information about sourcing playing kits will be provided to teams as part of their team confirmation emails which are sent once grading is completed (2nd and 3rd week of February).

Information about AJFC Playing Jerseys

Player jerseys are be supplied by the Club directly to team coaches and managers for distribution to players within the team – they are not ordered on an individual basis.  Each year, AJFC playing jerseys are returned and retained by the Club. The jerseys are sorted, packaged and reissued to coaches and managers of teams prior to the new season for distribution to players.  Exchanges of player jerseys where sizing is incorrect will be possible during one of a number of specified exchange days/times at the AJFC Club Shed/Community Room located at Campbell Park. These will be advised by the Club by email and social media closer to the time.

Finally, consistent with previous years, all player jerseys are to be collected and returned at the end of the year to your team coach and manager. A failure to return a jersey may see a Club fine be applied or registration refused the following season.

Information about AJFC Playing Kit Shorts and Socks

2026 sees AJFC changing the way it distributes playing kit shorts and socks. For this year, 2026, the ordering of playing kit shorts and socks by approved players will NOT be required. In an identical approach to jersey distribution, player shorts and socks will be sorted, packaged and issue to coaches and managers of teams in a range of sizes for distribution to all players. Exchanges of player shorts and socks where sizing is incorrect will be possible during one of a number of specified exchange days/times at the AJFC Club Shed/Community Room located at Campbell Park. These will be advised by the Club by email and social media closer to the time.

Player shorts and socks are to be retained by all players at the end of the Winter season, unlike playing kit jerseys. There is no requirement to return these to the Club as they may be reused the following season.

Frequently Asked Questions about AJFC Playing Kit

How and when can I order my AJFC playing kit (shorts and socks)?

Ordering of an AJFC playing kit (shorts and socks) is not required in 2026. Players will be issued with a pair of shorts and socks along with their jersey via their team coach and manager. Exchanges of incorrect fitting jerseys, shorts and socks will be possible at the Club Shed during nominated exchange days and times.

I have more than one AJFC player in my family, can I place a single order for all of the football kit we need?

Each player will be issued a playing kit via their team so there is no need to progress an order.

Can I choose my playing kit jersey number?

No. While we understand that players have preferred jersey numbers, in a Club of our size we must adopt an efficient number allocation process using 2 to 99 across our age divisions (and 1 for goalkeepers).  Jerseys will be allocated to players by their team coach and manager once collected from the Club.

How do I know what size shorts and socks I need?

The Club will be offering a select range of sized playing kits by team when distributing playing kits. Players should check to see whether playing kit (jerseys, shorts and socks) are an appropriate fit. Where this is not the case, exchanges of playing kit items will be possible on nominated exchange days.

I need to obtain playing kit shorts for my daughter – do I received Unisex or Women’s shorts?

AJFC will provide unisex shorts for female teams aged 8 to 13, a mix of large unisex and small women’s shorts for ages 14 to 16 and women’s shorts for Under 19 and above. Should a female player wish to exchange their shorts for unisex or women’s shorts, this will be possible on nominated exchange days.

I’m a dedicated goalkeeper. Can I order a goalkeeper jersey/kit?

All junior and youth teams will be provided with a goalkeeper jersey for their team. By default, if you are not a full-time goalkeeper, a regular playing jersey will also be made available. If you are a dedicated goalkeeper and would prefer a goalkeeper kit, please contact the Club at info@abbotsfordjuniorsfc.com.au to arrange to receive a goalkeeper jersey.

Do junior and youth teams need a player to purchase a goalkeeper jersey/kit?

No, the Club will provide a goalkeeper jersey for those junior teams that need one, even if they have a dedicated goalkeeper.

How will I receive/collect my football kit?

To be confirmed.

Is there an order deadline to have my playing kit (shorts and socks) before the season start?

There is no order deadline for the 2026 season. The Club will be providing playing kits for all players registered with teams one week prior to season kick-off. Players who register after this time will need to collect a playing kit from the AJFC Club Shed.

I have received the wrong size playing kit (shorts or socks) – what can I do?

Exchanges of player jerseys, shorts and socks where sizing is incorrect will be possible during one of a number of specified exchange days/times at the AJFC Club Shed/Community Room located at Campbell Park. These will be advised by the Club by email and social media closer to the time.

If you find that the kit you have received is the wrong size, please bring it to the Club Shed where we will look to exchange it for a suitable size (subject to availability).  No kit, no exchange. PLEASE NOTE: When exchanging jerseys, please have a list of all current jersey numbers within your team. This allows the Club to issue a jersey of the correct size and avoid a number clash.

Do I have to return my football kit after the season completes?

All player jerseys are to be collected and returned at the end of the year by your team coach and manager.  A failure to return a jersey may result in the player/parent assigned the jersey being charged the cost of the jersey by way of a fine.  Your playing kit shorts and socks are yours to keep and do not need to be returned.

I am a member of an AJFC Academy team – how do I get my Academy training kit?

AJFC Academy kits are ordered and distributed by the Club to academy team and select Division 1 team players. To allow for alignment of player numbers, these will be ordered and produced after regular playing kits have been assigned to players.  Information on this process will be sent directly to AJFC Academy coaches for onward distribution and coordination with team members each season.
