AJFC Incident Report

Team, Parent and Spectator Behaviour

Abbotsford Juniors Football Club provides a documented process for raising an incident report and is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our members and visitors, whenever and wherever we play our football. Club members accept and agree to be bound by the AJFC Codes of Conduct when they register.

If you witness or see something of concern on game day report it to a Ground Official or Club Official at the field. You can also lodge an Incident Report with the Club after the game or event.

Team members and their associates whether friends or family, players or spectators are responsible for their behaviour when attending a match or event whether at home or away at another Club’s fields. AJFC will not tolerate abusive, threatening or other inappropriate behaviour and may add additional penalties or sanctions to any suspension or sanction made by the Football Canterbury Association.

Team coaches and managers should ensure that a Ground Official is present for matches played at AJFC home fields.

Congratulate the opposing team no matter what the game score.

Dealing with and Reporting an Incident

It is recommended that the following process is followed when dealing with an incident:

  1. Ensure the safety of any AJFC players/members involved. Remove the team from the field of play if necessary. If during a game, match officials are required to deal promptly with all incidents on the field. For off field issues, seek out a Ground Official and/or the AJFC/local host Club Official at the ground for assistance.
  2. If the incident is serious in nature, please contact an AJFC Club Committee member as soon as possible.
  3. Again, if at a game, request that the referee notes the incident in their match report at the end of the game
  4. As soon as possible after the event, complete an AJFC Incident Report Form. This will be automatically sent to the Club upon completion of the form.
  5. The Club Secretary will record the incident and forward this to the AJFC Discipline Committee, Club President or Football Canterbury Association as required with appropriate follow-up as needed to the Association Judiciary.
  6. The Club Secretary or Club President will provide feedback to the reporting party re: any outcome(s) from the report.
